MAREK LEŠČÁK

Marek Leščák was born in 1971 in Bratislava. He currently teaches at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (FTF VŠMU) in the Dramaturgy and Screenwriting Studio. Holder of two Slovak National Film Awards – Sun in the Net – for scripts for The City of Sun and Blind Loves. Holder of Czech Film Award – Czech Lion – for the script for The Garden. Laureate of the 2011 Tatrabanka Award for the script for The Gypsy. Member of the Slovak Film and Television Academy, Czech Film and Television Academy and European Film Academy (EFA). He wrote or co-wrote the scripts of many successful films awarded at prestigious festivals home and abroad.
